Church concerts are coming back

The new political agreement makes it possible for churches to organize more events.

The political agreement, which was agreed on the night before Tuesday the 4th of May, means that from Thursday the 6th of May churches are now able to gather more people, both inside and outside.

Now it becomes possible for congregations to organize events for large gatherings of people under special guidelines. For example, this means that it is now possible to carry out church concerts with 25-500 participants sitting down and facing the stage. You can also hold large outdoor church services. For these big events it is obligatory to carry a valid Corona-passport. At events with more than 500 participants a particular health plan must be made.

Other than that, the gradual phase-out of the assembly ban continues as planned. From Thursday the 6th of May 25 people can meet indoors and 75 people are able to assemble outdoors. This also applies to funerals and cremation services. Thereby it is also again possible to unite up to 25 participants in the parish house for activities such as grief groups, choirs, and the like. The special rule about activities for children and teenagers under the age of 18 consequently disappears. A distance of 1 meter must be maintained and when singing the rule is 2 meters. The area requirements are 2 square meters when sitting and 4 square meters when standing.

For ecclesiastical acts such as church services, weddings and funerals the amount of people in the church is still determined by the current distance requirements.
